The green movement got started and stopped short of expectations with the recycling programs of the late 1980s and early 1990s. It was more expensive and people had to go to great lengths to provide recycling companies material they could use. We have learned a great deal from that and now the green movement understands it needs to be practical for everyone to participate. Green cleaning with REDLEE/SCS is no different. We look at the new processes and technologies and evaluate what brings added value to our program and what falls into the category of “a lot of show.” We want our green program to be effective, not just look good on paper.

Not every building or property manager is in a position to go for a full blown green cleaning program right away. So we have ways for you to do things a little more environmentally friendly in steps. There are several aspects of cleaning to consider and when you sit down with us, we’ll be able to determine which aspects are most effective for you to implement immediately, and which may be better to build up to. Our management team has a combined tenure in the commercial janitorial industry of more than 100 years, and that number grows as we do. We promote from within when applicable to ensure front line management experience is carried forward throughout our people’s careers. Every member of our top management team has answered an emergency call in the middle of the night and are willing to do it again, should the need arise. When our management team inspects work done, they know firsthand what is quality and what needs improvement. They can address and correct most items before our customers ever notice.

The same is applied to our green program. REDLEE/SCS has partnered with and joined organizations recognized as trailblazers and follow their example to tailor our own green approach. Our LEED Accredited Professional achieved her designation in Building Operations & Maintenance because it is the most relevant to our customers. Her continuing education focuses on issues that property managers will face as the push for buildings to go green increases, as well.
